A for Appointment’s position in the market place is as a direct response to clients needing a more flexible, innovative, honest and tailor-made service. Working in partnership with clients, creating relationships and listening to their true needs, 'are the core strengths of A for Appointments'. The result is a database of clients who return again and again, due to the consistency and quality of the service provided. These attributes are reiterated in the testimonials received from all levels of clients.
Margaret Haywood, Managing Director, had this exact vision in mind when she set up the business in the millennium year of 2000. By 2004 Margaret had won the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Highly Commended Business Woman of the Year award, and the business was proving successful both in the service provided and the market place.
All sales consultants at A for Appointments are dedicated to specific clients, in order to give a full specialised service to each company. The internal support given to consultants allows them to dedicate more than a hundred percent of their time to their own clients and applicants alike. To provide a more personalised service to clients, each consultant visits the place of work to ensure the suitability of the applicants being sent for interview. To enable beneficial time management for the client, all consultants will interview, test and provide advice to all applicants, BEFORE sending them onto clients. This saves time for the interviewer as he/she will only be interviewing applicants who have proved to be an exact match for the vacancy. The client will, therefore, not be reading through hundreds of CVs deciding who to interview.
The whole process from start to finish is designed to build relationships, from the initial visit to the client, to the thorough interview with the applicant. The testing procedures include more than 900 tests covering every type of industry and can even include tutorials covering various packages, if required. Benchmark testing is available for clients who would like to set a standard for their workforce, while stress management training is offered to clients who care about their employee’s well-being. See the training section for more details.
