About the job

Main Duties - Adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Health & Safety remains a non-negotiable. Always work in a safe manner.
• Ensure safety, environment and quality always remain a priority.
• Be involved in the Daily observational survey and Near Miss programme and actively support and encourage your colleagues and team members in the identification and close out of any near misses
• Always ensure your working environment and equipment in your area is safe and fit for purpose.
• Ability to deal with a wide variety of parts that can be short runs.
• Respond to setting and maintaining the machinery across your allocated portfolio in line with the Preventative Maintenance programme.
• Meet monthly outputs set by your Head of Operations.
• Record all daily outputs on schedule paperwork and submit on time.
• Record all downtime on schedule paperwork and submit on time.
• Escalate any concerns with machinery or parts to Operational Team Leader.
• Maintain Die portfolio escalating any concerns for replenishment.
• Follow the production plan and make recommendations on efficiency improvements and sequencing.
• Ensure robust records are maintained in line with Quality Attributes of each Part manufactured.
• Escalate any quality gap immediately.
• Mentor, develop and coach Apprenticeship under your guidance as appropriate, ensuing 20% of day is spent on apprenticeship studies.
• Ensure lubricant is maintained and effective, escalating any gaps to supply to the Operational Team Leader.
• Maintain the site hygiene policy in Kitchen and Bathroom areas on the working rota available.
• Be flexible to any training of new machinery opportunity.
• Undertake any other activity appropriate to your role.
• Ensure an efficient handover to Operational Team Leader pending any holidays to be taken to ensure smooth continuous production of jobs.
• Ensuring that the area, equipment and machinery are kept clean and tidy and in accordance with the relevant procedures during shift.
• Report machine breakdowns to the Operational Team Leader as soon as possible after they occur whilst striving to ensure minimum disruption to the team.
• Assist in the general preventative maintenance of the machine.
• Working with other AF Fasteners colleagues to ensure the implementation of the company’s policies and goals.
• Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures at all times.
• Be flexible to support and assist outside normal working hours when necessary.
• Assist with other activities within the realm of your capabilities when required.
