An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Material Handler to join an established growing Engineering company based in Sheffield. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring materials are distributed to the relevant personnel in an efficient manner. The role will involve day-to-day duties within the warehouse including goods in/ goods out, ensuring material availability to feed production lines and FLT Driving.
The role:
• Load production operators with job materials; including selecting specific items from stock as determined on job sheets / material sheets. Identifying that all items are available and notifying the appropriate Manager of any discrepancies. Ensuring that items are taken to the correct operator for production using the appropriate method e.g. FLT, Palletizer etc.
• Ensure good flow of materials, safely and correctly routed to its next stage of production using routing stickers / control cards.
• Ensure all items are collated as specified on the relevant control cards; liaising with the Stores to ensure all items are included in the kit of parts.
• Liaise with the Template Programmer to resolve any queries/shortages/loadings to ensure contracts remain on schedule. Unsolvable problems to be brought to the attention of your Line Manager.
• Liaise with your Line Manager to ensure continuity of production between operations i.e. collation from Drilling/Machining/Bending operations of a complete ‘kit of parts’ for assembly.
• To provide cover for the Company Driver, as and when required; dispatching and collecting work efficiently whilst ensuring that all loads are handled safely and always secured (sheeted when appropriate).
• Identify any risks or concerns regarding Health and Safety and bring them to the attention of your supervisor.
• Co-operate with your colleagues and participate in improvements in your department.
• Work to the Company Values.
• Follow instructions and reasonable requests from your supervisor.
• Follow Company policies, rules, and procedures.
