1. Good level of education
2. Metallurgical qualification would be ideal to HNC/HND or degree standard.
3. Experience of working in a Quality Environment and of BS EN9100 essential.
4. Aerospace industry experience preferred but not essential, but must have other similar manufacturing environment experience.
5. NADCAP Aerospace advantage but not essential.
6. Membership/qualification from Quality professional bodies.
7. Internal auditor experience necessary.
8. Ability to maintain and improve the quality management systems.
10. Tenacious and thorough with great attention to detail.
11. Methodical, proactive, creative, problem solver and a self-starter.
12. Strong IT skills and good customer focus
13. Team player.
14. Logical thinker with the ability to solve problems and work out solutions.
15. Well organised, able to plan.
16. Able to work without supervision & meet deadlines.
17. Reliable and flexible.
18. Diplomatic but firm when dealing with customers, auditors etc.
19. Full driving license and passport to travel if required (minimal).

Quality Manager - Engineering business - GLOSSOP - SALARY CIRCA £35-40k

Main Purpose of the role:
To lead and advise the business in maintaining excellent records, audits, and product quality as well as ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained in line with continuous improvement.
Main Duties:
Ensure the integrity of the Quality Management System is maintained throughout the business at all times.
" Ensure that all aspects of the Company Quality Management system are maintained in line with the requirements of BS EN9100/NADCAP accreditation.
" Ensure relevant Quality documentation remains up to date & representative of the business.
" Drive and promote a total quality philosophy at all levels thereby developing and sustaining a culture of right first time and continuous improvement.
Prepare quality performance data for the site and review with the Board / Management team on a regular basis.
" Liaise with customers on quality-related matters
" Ensure all customer-specific requirements and procedures are adopted and followed.
" Ensure that customer rejections are recorded, inspected, and reported - following through with appropriate actions as required and ensuring any costs incurred are recovered.
" Represent the business in a professional manner at all times.
" Produce documentation for the customer including FAIR's and PHYS CHEMS to a professional level.

Provide support to the business including the operations function on quality-related matters where necessary.
" Split Route Cards and process on the system on customers' orders when required to improve delivery time to customers.
" Ensure all quality checks are carried out on all raw materials as necessary.
" Carry out Micro Inspection and other inspections as and when required.
Oversee and drive through all audit requirements for the business.
" Manage all external and customer audits as required.
" Audit suppliers as and when required.
" Carry out capability studies on the company's machinery to ensure it is fit for purpose at all times.
" Maintain an up to date system of information on suppliers including e.g. accreditations, specifications, drawings, certifications etc.,
" Maintain the calibration system for equipment used in measurement, testing & weighing.
" Manage, lead and control the quality team with the aim of driving forward continuous improvements and develop for the future.
" Manage attendance, holidays etc., to ensure cover is provided at all times.
" Ensure roles and objectives are communicated and clearly understood.
" Establish objectives and targets and review performance regularly in line with the business process.
" Ensure team are nurtured and trained to the correct standard including MPI, hardness testing, tencile testing etc.
" Third party auditing bodies (NADCAP, BSI and LRQA)
Aerospace related industry bodies, etc.,
General
" Working with other managers, ensure the implementation of the company's policies and goals.
" Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures at all times.
" Treat all colleagues in a professional, fair and empathetic manner.
" Work on your own initiative as required ensuring the smooth, efficient and effective availability of financial information is available for the business.
