Knowledge & Experience:
• Previous experience with a specialist sub-contractor, managing the installation of architectural metalwork & bespoke structural steelwork.
• Strong knowledge of steel construction methods and practice in a management role
• Demonstrable experience in the planning and programming of steel work (and associated packages) installation
• Demonstrable experience in the production of risk assessments, method statements, and associated site documentation
• Demonstrable experience in the erection of most of the steel structures and operations, in particular high-rise structures, medium rise and city centre structures, refurbishment type work including welding operations.
Key Qualifications:
• CSCS black/platinum in site management
• SMSTS or IOSH equivalent
• CPCS Appointed Person - lifting operations.
• Full Driving License

About the job

Duties:
• To ensure the health & safety of all employees and subcontractors, along with compliance with the
Group Health & Safety Policy.
• Must ensure that risks to any employee’s/subcontractor’s health and safety are identified and appropriate actions taken to eliminate/minimise these risks.
• Must ensure that personnel within their team have the qualifications/ability/confidence to safely
undertake tasks given to them.
Site Management
• To develop and maintain proactive, positive, and responsive communication and dialogue with the client’s representatives, promoting the company’s image and reputation while representing the company
• To manage and lead all site-based health, safety, quality & environmental issues.
• To monitor site performance and take all necessary action for the on time and within budget completion
of works while maintaining a professional working relationship with the client.
• To produce Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS) using the company’s templates.
To brief operatives and subcontractors on the RAMS; ensuring full understanding and sign up.
To monitor site activities to ensure compliance to the approved RAMS.
• To actively plan site activities (at least a week in advance) by producing short term programmes which highlight labour, materials, and plant requirements; allowing adequate mobilisation time.
• To actively manage and control the site installation teams to ensure the required quality of finish is
achieved and maintained.
Site Surveying
• To carry out site surveys when requested to ensure surveys are carried out in accordance with the Project
Programme.

Quality
• Must understand the quality standards expected to meet customer requirements and to simplify the manufacturing and on-site installation processes. They must ensure that their team meets these standards on all items.
• Must ensure that required company procedures for quality control and assurance are followed e.g., testing and inspection, documentation etc.

Salary circa £40k-£45k p.a.
Salaried role, so no additional overtime paid
