Assistant Accountant - Wanted for a forward-thinking Professional Services company based In Sheffield (Industry experience preferred)

As an Assistant Accountant you will provide accounts and administrative support to the Company Accountant, focussed on bank transactions and the purchase ledger, and to understand the company accounts in order to deputise for the Company Accountant as required, and assisting in other accounts work.
Duties to include:
• Maintain the Purchase Ledger, including entering invoices onto Sage and chasing up managers for authorisation.
• Update daily bank transactions onto Sage, or other software as applicable#
• Bank Reconciliations
• To assist in the preparation of month-end journals, including payroll
• Be involved in the production of daily cashflow forecasts.
• To assist with other ad hoc finance work as and when requires
• Answer phone calls and transfer them as necessary.
• Maintenance of asset register
During Company Accountants’ absence:
• Understand the management accounts to answer queries from management Cashflow & forecast statements.
• Managing payment run including payroll.
